Few Solicitors can exhibit a line of experience dating back nearly 300 years!

Blackhurst Swainson Goodier (increasingly referred to now as BSG) can perhaps lay claim to showing the longest record of continuous legal service in the Lancashire area. Dating from 1720 when John Parker established a legal practice around Preston (and Liverpool) the firm has continuously evolved to become the firm it is today with offices now covering North and Central Lancashire.

The Firm in its current style was formed from the merger of long established Solicitors' firms Blackhurst Swainson and Oswald Goodier & Co; most recently in January 2005.

Previously known separately as Blackhurst Parker & Yates in Preston and Swainson Son & Reynolds in Lancaster, Blackhurst Swainson had been established for over 285 years.

Now based in Preston and Lancaster (with consulting facilities in Garstang) we have a range of experienced Lawyers who are happy to meet with clients wherever they wish. We provide a range of services with a personal style upon which many generations of clients have come to rely to deliver quality service to both private and business clients.

Although steeped in experience and ever mindful of the need to maintain solid traditional standards, BSG has a very modern approach to the delivery of legal services. We are confident our experience can serve your needs as we have done for countless generations of clients to date.
